WAB closed for good

As taken from GW's Warhammer Ancients website itself
"We can no longer accept any further orders for our products

We would like to thank our customers who have purchased our publications over the years and hope you will continue to get many more years of gaming enjoyment from them

If you have any queries regarding orders that have been placed with Warhammer Historical please
contact the Forge World Customer Service team"

I am honestly extremely disapointed though not to suprised in this regard. WAB was a great system and I am glad I own a number of books from it as now they are out of print for good, but saddly their is not much that can really step up in it's place so this is rather disconcerting to begin with. In the end it's another bad choice in a long line of bad ones for GW and really does show it's the beginning of the end.

  1. Indeed. Seen this news being posted around, and am kind of shocked, but as you said, not surprised.. Will be interesting to see what rule set takes up the void now in this arena..

  2. Really - seriously - do you actually think that GW will be missed? Hardly they were a waste in consuming both historical gamers dollars/GBP etc and time. Too many gamers got sucked into the GW world IMHO if the whole kit and kiboodle went under then you would simply see other miniature manufacturers fill the vacuum.

  3. Clash of Empires from Great Escape games has filled the void neatly for me. I loved the Warhammer Ancients books and rules. Clash of Empires is very, very similar and has ongoing support. If you have not checked them out I would encourage you to do so.
